what happens when two male dogs want to date the same female dog in heat?

I can tell you what happens - the alpha dog wins! especially when the alpha dog is a 40 lb. blue heeler and the wanta-be dog is a 6 lb. chihuahua.

Our son Nick is living with us while he looks for a new job. That means we have also opened up our home to Nick's dogs - Lyra - a beautiful white Syberian huskie and Blu -a very energetic blue heeler. Already residing in our home is a spoiled 6 lb. chihuahua named Max.

Last night all 3 dogs were in the same place at the same time when BOOM! Blu chomped into Max's little neck. Before you panic let me assure you ....Max will be fine!

He spent the afternoon at the 24 hr Pet ER. - diagnosis - bruised throat, minor cut, and a heart murmur. He had the heart murmur - it is not the result of getting mugged by Blu.

in the end, this is really for me

I've gone back and forth with the idea of starting to blog again. One day I'm all for it, the next day I don't think it is worth the hassle. Today just happens to be one of those days when I think it is worth it so...I am going to give it another shot.

I have missed the opportunity to post the stuff that is going on in my life, the happy stuff, the crappy stuff, the scary stuff, and all the other events of my life -some days messy other days exhausting life. I promise to be as honest as I possibly can. I will never mention names unless I have their permission.

In part I stopped blogging last time cuz no one ever blogged back -this time I am going to keep writing regardless if any of you folks write back.

If you read something and feel the need to share a thought I hope you will do so.

What goes on inside a dog's brain?

Have you ever considered what goes on inside a dog's head?

I am sitting here tonight hanging out with my son's dog - Blue. He is a mut, with a great personality, expressive eyes and eyebrows and endless energy.

He is fascinated by our aloof cat and could take a or leave our grumpy old chihuahua.

We are watching him while our son is a on a job adventure, and I wonder what he is thinking. Numerous times during the day and night he paces around the house and stands by the front door. At night he wanders around the house, until I get my son's pillow and lay it on the floor next to our bed.

I really enjoy talking with him about politics and the economy. He has clear understanding of International economics but has yet to decide who he will vote for for President. He watched the Debate last night but fell asleep after the first 15 minutes.

I know he has an understanding of a number of English words such as: eat, trick, treat, walk, ride, swim, and cat. Plus, he can climb trees. He is looking for other dogs who want to get to together to talk politics, chase rabbits and pee on fireplugs. Call if your dog might be interested.

Momma Moose & Baby

One day while we were driving through the White Mts. in New Hampshire we came upon a momma moose and her baby. They were grazing along the roadside, we pulled over and watched them for over 30 minutes! Suzan slipped out of the car and snapped this great picture
